Supporting Education in our Artisan Communities
For almost two decades, we've worked with women in Bangladesh who make our braided and stitched jute baskets. In their communities, purpose-built spaces become preschools each morning, giving around 90 children every year access to early learning before they begin primary school. Later in the day, those same spaces are used by women to make baskets, undertake training and come together for meetings.
This year, we're beginning a new three-year commitment to supporting these preschools, contributing towards teachers' wages, training and supervision, and the learning materials the children use each day.
